Shanti Ashram is the name given to one of the multiple residential Ashrams (hostels) where the students reside under the care of a House Master and House Mother (Ashram Mataji). The students, or 'Netarhatians', manage their daily chores, including sweeping, wiping floors, washing utensils, and serving meals, which teaches them dignity of labor—a central tenet of the school’s philosophy influenced by the principles of basic education and the vision of its founder, Frederick Gordon Pearce.
