Gurudwara Garna Sahib

Hoshiarpur, Punjab, India
Gurudwara Garna Sahib is a site of immense spiritual significance located in the village of Bodal. The shrine is dedicated to the sixth Sikh Guru, Shri Guru Hargobind Ji, who visited this dense forest area while traveling from Kartarpur. The name "Garna" is derived from the Garna tree (Carissa cara ndas), which played a central role in the Guru's visit. Legend says a dried branch of the tree caught the Guru's clothing, and he instructed his followers to plant it, blessing it to heal the troubles of those who visit. Today, the 400-year-old tree still stands as a living miracle. The atmosphere is profoundly peaceful, offering a sanctuary for meditation and prayer amidst rural Punjab's natural beauty. It serves as a major community hub where people from all walks of life gather to seek blessings.
