While much of it is in ruins, the remaining 'Darwazas' (gates) like the Moga Gate and Jaito Gate showcase the defensive architecture of the 17th century. The city's main market is built in a circular fashion around the old fort area. The modern architecture includes several impressive Gurudwaras with large domes and marble finishes. The dimensions of the historical gates are approximately 30 feet in height, featuring heavy wooden doors with iron spikes for protection against elephant charges. -
