Hemchandra Vikramaditya Samadhi
Historical Legacy: This site is the memorial of Samrat Hemchandra Vikramaditya, also known as Hemu, a local hero who rose from humble beginnings to become the Emperor of Delhi. He was a brilliant military commander who won 22 consecutive battles before facing the forces of Akbar in the Second Battle of Panipat in 1556. The Samadhi is built on the exact spot where Hemu was captured and beheaded after being struck by a stray arrow in his eye. For centuries, this site remained neglected until local history societies and the government began efforts to preserve his legacy. It serves as a poignant reminder of the "last Hindu Emperor of Delhi" and his valor.
