It is considered as important as Gaya for Pitru Shraddh (rituals for departed fathers) . Legend has it that Lord Parashurama, an avatar of Vishnu, performed Matru Shraddh here, hence its sacred status. The sarovar is surrounded by numerous small temples and ghats (steps leading to the water), where pilgrims perform rituals. The town of Siddhpur itself was historically known for its architectural splendor, especially during the Solanki era, and was a prominent center for Sanskrit learning and religious activities. While the sarovar itself is not architecturally grand in the same way as Rani ki Vav, its spiritual importance and the historical context of Siddhpur make it a compelling visit.
