How To Reach Accoland

Guwahati, Assam, India
Accoland is recognized as the first and largest water cum amusement park in the entire Northeast India, earning it the popular nickname, the "Disneyland of Assam." Established in 2005, the park spans a substantial area and is cleverly designed to resemble a magnificent, brightly colored fairy-tale c astle, immediately setting a mood of fantasy and fun for all visitors. It serves as an ideal retreat from the bustling city life of Guwahati, offering a perfect blend of high-energy land rides and refreshing water slides suitable for all age groups, from toddlers to adults. The park is strategically divided into two main zones: the Water Park and the Amusement Park (or Dry Park), ensuring a diverse range of entertainment options. The core philosophy of Accoland is to provide a comprehensive family entertainment package, ensuring every member finds an activity they can enjoy. The architecture and landscape are maintained to a high standard, with lush green areas providing pleasant rest spots between the exhilarating rides. Beyond the thrilling mechanical attractions and splashy water zones, the park also houses specialized entertainment options like the Cine Magix, a simulated fantasy theatre offering a 3D/4D movie experience, and the Vortex Maze, a challenging mirror maze. This variety makes Accoland not just a destination for adrenaline junkies, but also a place for casual family picnics, school trips, and large group outings. It has consistently been a top recreational spot in Guwahati, particularly during the hot summer months when its water rides provide a much-needed cooling escape. The park's management places a strong emphasis on safety, with trained lifeguards and ride operators ensuring adherence to safety protocols, making it a worry-free environment for parents. The atmosphere is consistently lively, filled with music, laughter, and the sounds of splashing water and excited screams, cementing its status as a vibrant hub of fun in the region.

How to Reach

By Air: The nearest and most convenient airport is the Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU), which is remarkably close to Accoland—only about 4. 8 KMS away. This proximity makes it the fastest way to travel from the airport to the park. Visitors landing at GAU can easily hire a pre-paid taxi or use ride-sharing services like Ola or Uber from the airport terminal. The drive is very short, typically taking only 10-15 minutes under normal traffic conditions. This route is excellent for tourists coming to Guwahati specifically to visit the park. For those coming from outside Assam or India, flying directly to GAU is the recommended option, followed by a quick cab ride.

By Train: Guwahati is a major railway hub in Northeast India. The two main railway stations are Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) and Kamakhya Railway Station (KYQ). GHY is located approximately 20-22 KMS from Accoland, and KYQ is slightly closer. Both stations are well-connected to major cities across India. Upon arrival at either station, the best way to reach Accoland is by hiring a cab or an auto-rickshaw. The journey by road from GHY will take about 45 minutes to 1 hour, depending on traffic, via the Assam Trunk Road and connecting routes like AK Dev Road. Taxis are easily available outside the stations, and it is advisable to negotiate the fare or use a pre-paid booth to avoid overcharging.

By Road: Accoland is situated on Rani Road in the Pat Gaon area, making it accessible via a well-maintained road network. From the main Guwahati city center, the park is about 19. 9 KMS away. The drive typically takes 40 minutes to an hour. Major routes include the AK Dev Road or the Assam Trunk Road leading towards the airport area. If you are driving your own vehicle, the park offers ample parking facilities. Inter-city and state buses from nearby towns often drop passengers at Paltan Bazar Bus Stop (approx. 21 KMS away) or a closer main stop, from where a local taxi or auto-rickshaw must be taken for the final leg of the journey.

By Local Transport: The most common local transport modes are auto-rickshaws and cycle-rickshaws (for short distances), and city buses. For a distance of 20 KMS from the city center, an auto-rickshaw is a feasible option but may be slower than a taxi. For comfort and direct travel, especially for groups, using a call-a-cab service (Uber/Ola) is the most convenient and reliable local transport method to reach the park directly. Public city buses also ply routes that pass close to the BSF Headquarters on Rani Road, but this option may involve walking the last stretch.
