Auli is a breathtakingly beautiful destination, especially famous for its pristine ski slopes and panoramic views of some of the highest Himalayan peaks, including Nanda Devi, Mana Parvat, and Kamet. During winter, it transforms into a white wonderland, attracting skiers and snowboarders from acros s India and beyond. The Auli Ropeway, one of the longest in Asia (approx. 4 km), connects Joshimath to Auli, offering spectacular aerial views of the snow-laden peaks and valleys below. Beyond skiing, Auli offers stunning natural beauty year-round. In summer, the meadows are carpeted with vibrant wildflowers, making it ideal for nature walks, trekking, and camping. The artificial Auli Lake is another charming attraction, where one can enjoy boating and the reflection of the surrounding peaks. The gentle slopes of Auli are perfect for beginners in skiing, with trained instructors and equipment readily available. The views from Gurson Bugyal (a trekable meadow from Auli) and Kuari Pass (a famous trek starting near Auli) are legendary among trekkers. Auli also has a small temple called Hanuman Temple, believed to be the place where Lord Hanuman rested while searching for the Sanjeevani herb. Nearest Road Head: Joshimath (accessible by road from Rishikesh, Haridwar, Dehradun).

From Joshimath: Take the Auli Ropeway directly to Auli (recommended) or hire a local taxi for the motorable road (which can be tricky in heavy snow).
