How to Reach

By Air: The nearest airport is Shillong Airport (Umroi Airport), about 30 KMS away. From the airport, hire a pre-paid taxi directly to the Laitumkhrah area, which is near the garden. The major air hub is Guwahati Airport (GAU), about 120 KMS away, connected to major Indian cities. From GAU, you can take a shared taxi or a private cab (Meghalaya Tourist Taxis) to Shillong.

By Train: There is no railway station in Shillong. The nearest major railway station is Guwahati Railway Station (GHY), about 100 KMS away. From GHY, hire a taxi or take a state transport bus to Shillong. The scenic road journey takes around 3-4 hours, depending on traffic and weather conditions.

By Road: Shillong is well-connected by road from Guwahati via NH 6. State and private buses, as well as shared Sumos, run frequently. Within Shillong, the garden is located centrally on the way to Laitumkhrah and is very close to Ward’s Lake.

By Local Transport: The garden is easily accessible by local private and shared taxis. Ask for "Ward’s Lake" or "Botanical Garden". The area is a prime spot, so local transport from any part of Shillong is readily available and affordable. It's also a pleasant 20-30 minute walk from the main Police Bazar area.
