How To Reach Chatra Jama Masjid

By Air (Closest Airport) The nearest major airport is Birsa Munda Airport (IXR) in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand, approximately 160-180 KMS away from Chatra. From the airport, one can hire a pre-paid taxi or take a shared cab service directly to Chatra. The road journey takes about 4 to 5 hours. Alternatively, one can take a flight to Gaya International Airport (GAY) in Bihar (approx. 120 KMS) and then complete the journey by road, which may be slightly shorter but offers fewer direct services. By Train (Closest Railway Station) The closest major railway station is Koderma Junction (KQR) on the Grand Chord Line, approximately 100-110 KMS from Chatra. Koderma has excellent connectivity to major Indian cities like Delhi, Kolkata, and Mumbai. From Koderma, one can easily hire a taxi or take a local bus to Chatra. A closer, but smaller, option is Gaya Junction (GAYA) or Hazaribagh Road Station (HZD), both within a manageable distance. By Road (Bus/Car) Chatra is well-connected by road to other parts of Jharkhand and neighboring states. National Highway 22 (NH 22) passes through or near the town, ensuring good road access. State-run and private buses regularly operate from Ranchi, Hazaribagh, Daltonganj, and Gaya to the Chatra Bus Stand.
