How To Reach Duke's Nose

Distinctive Geological Landmark: Duke's Nose, or Nagphani (meaning 'Cobra's Hood' in Marathi), is arguably the most recognizable natural landmark in the Khandala-Lonavala region. It is a massive, distinctive cliff that juts out dramatically from the main body of the Sahyadri range, resembling a cobr a's hood or, historically, the nose of the Duke of Wellington. The peak is a prominent feature visible from many other viewpoints, including Amrutanjan Point and Khandala Ghat View Point. The view from the top is a spectacular 360-degree panorama of the Bhor Ghat and the surrounding plains. Trekking and Adventure Paradise: The peak is a mecca for adventure sports, attracting thousands of trekkers, hikers, and rock climbers every year. The trek starts near Kurvande Village and is a moderately challenging, rewarding climb through dense forest. Rock climbing and rappelling are organized on the near-vertical cliff face, offering an unparalleled adrenaline rush for experienced enthusiasts. How to Reach

By Air: Nearest airport is Pune International Airport (PNQ), approx. 80 KMs away. Mumbai (BOM) is approx. 100 KMs away. Hire a private cab to Kurvande Village.

By Train: The nearest station is Lonavala (LNL), approx. 8 KMs from the base village. From the station, you can hire a local taxi or auto-rickshaw to Kurvande Village (the trek starting point).

By Road: The base village, Kurvande, is accessible by a decent motorable road from Lonavala and Khandala. Drive your own vehicle or hire a taxi.

By Local Transport: A local taxi or a dedicated auto-rickshaw is the only convenient local transport option from Khandala or Lonavala to the trailhead. Ensure you arrange a return trip.
