How to Reach
Hazaribagh By Road (Local Transport): The easiest way to reach is by hiring a local auto-rickshaw (or 'auto') or a taxi from the Hazaribagh bus stand or Distt. More. The journey takes about 30 to 45 minutes depending on the traffic and the specific point of departure in Hazaribagh town. Negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around Rs.200 to Rs.400 for a return trip, excluding waiting charges. Private vehicles (car/bike) are also convenient, as there is ample unofficial parking space.
By Air (Nearest Airport): The nearest major airport is Birsa Munda Airport (IXR) in Ranchi, approximately 100 KMS away. From Ranchi airport, you can hire a pre-paid taxi directly to Hazaribagh (approx. 3-4 hours drive). Once in Hazaribagh, follow the local road directions mentioned above.
By Train (Nearest Railway Station): The nearest major railway station is Koderma Railway Station (KQR), approximately 70 KMS away. From Koderma, you can hire a taxi or take a bus to Hazaribagh (approx. 2-3 hours drive). Alternatively, the newly operational Hazaribagh Town Railway Station (HZBN) is closer (approx. 15 to 20 KMS), but connectivity and train frequency may be lower. From either station, take local transport to the Galwaan Valley area near BSF Meru.
Local Directions: Ask for directions to the BSF Meru Camp; the spot is well-known to local drivers in that vicinity.
