How To Reach Gayatri Waterfalls
Nirmal, Telangana, India
Gayatri Waterfalls, also known locally as Mukdi Gundam or Gadidha Gundam, is a breathtaking natural wonder hidden deep within the forests of Nirmal. It is formed on the Kadem River, which is a tributary of the mighty Godavari. Unlike the more famous Kuntala falls, Gayatri remains a relatively seclu ded spot, offering a pristine and untouched experience for nature lovers. The waterfall plunges from a height of approximately 100 feet into a deep pool below. Reaching the falls requires a trek of about 5 KM through dense woods and over small streams, making it a favorite for adventure enthusiasts. The path takes you through cotton and soya bean fields before entering the thick forest canopy. The sound of the gushing water can be heard from a distance, building anticipation for the trekkers. The pool at the bottom is crystal clear, though the rocks are quite slippery. It is a seasonal beauty that comes to life during the monsoons when the river is in full flow. The area is rich in biodiversity, and one can spot various species of birds and butterflies along the trail. It is truly a hidden gem that rewards those who are willing to put in the effort to find it. :
