How To Reach ISKCON Temple

Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, India:
A Sanctuary of Bhakti Yoga and Spiritual Serenity: The ISKCON Temple in Kanpur, officially known as Sri Sri Radha Madhava Mandir, is a magnificent spiritual and cultural complex dedicated to Lord Krishna and his consort Radha. Part of the global International Society for Krishna Consciousness moveme nt, the temple is a beacon of Bhakti Yoga and promotes Vedic culture and philosophy. The sprawling complex covers a large area and includes the main temple hall, a guest house, a Govinda's pure vegetarian restaurant, a gift shop, a library, and beautifully maintained gardens. Its striking architecture, crafted predominantly from pristine white marble, combines modern design elements with traditional Hindu temple aesthetics. The temple atmosphere is profoundly tranquil, making it an ideal retreat from the city's hustle for meditation, prayer, and self-reflection. Visitors are encouraged to participate in the daily schedule of aartis (devotional ceremonies), kirtans (soul-stirring group chanting), and lectures on Vedic scriptures. The temple is famous for its vibrant celebration of major festivals, particularly Krishna Janmashtami and Radhashtami, which draw massive crowds and feature elaborate decorations and cultural programs. The temple complex is more than just a place of worship; it is a center for education and community bonding, offering classes in spiritual development and serving free or subsidized prasadam (sanctified food) to all visitors, embodying the principle of hospitality and compassion. The entire establishment is meticulously maintained, offering a clean, organized, and spiritually vibrant environment for devotees and peace-seekers alike:

How to Reach

By Air: Kanpur Airport (KNU) is approximately 15-18 Kms away. The temple is located on the Bithoor Road, making the taxi ride fairly direct and taking about 40-50 minutes. Pre-paid taxis and app-based cabs are the best options.

By Train: Kanpur Central Railway Station (CNB) is about 15. 5 Kms away. From the station, the temple is easily accessible via auto-rickshaw or taxi. Due to its location slightly away from the immediate city center, an app-cab is often the most comfortable and reliable choice for this specific journey.

By Road: The temple is situated on the prominent Bithoor Road/Mainavati Marg in the Northern Railway Colony area. It is a well-known landmark and is easily found via GPS navigation. The connectivity is good, but the roads leading out of the main city toward Bithoor can be subject to local traffic congestion. City buses also ply the Bithoor route, stopping near the temple complex.

By Local Transport: Auto-rickshaws and e-rickshaws will take you there, but since it is slightly on the outskirts, you should negotiate the fare beforehand or use a metered/app-based service. Combining a local transport ride with a visit to nearby attractions like the Kanpur Zoological Park or Kamla Retreat is often efficient:
