How To Reach Kovalam Junction

By Air:

Nearest Airport Connection: To reach Kovalam Junction, you must first fly into Trivandrum International Airport (TRV), approximately 15-20 KMS away. Upon landing, the junction is easily reachable by taxi. You can take a pre-paid taxi from the airport counter or use a ride-sharing app. The driver will know the junction as it is the main drop-off point for the beach resorts. The journey will take around 30 to 40 minutes.

By Train:

Station to Junction: The nearest major railhead is Thiruvananthapuram Central (TVC), about 16 KMS away. From TVC, the junction is easily reached by the numerous auto-rickshaws or taxis waiting outside the station. Given the short distance, an auto-rickshaw is a popular and quick option, taking roughly 30 minutes. Be prepared for a negotiation of the fare or insist on using the meter.

By Road:

State Highway Access: Kovalam Junction is directly connected to the state highway network that links it to Thiruvananthapuram city. Regular, inexpensive KSRTC buses run every few minutes from the city center to Kovalam; the junction is their main stop. If driving yourself, the roads are generally good, but the junction itself can be congested, so parking is typically found a short walk away. The main access to the beach areas all flows through this one central point.

By Local Transport:

The Center of It All: Once you are in Kovalam, the junction is the easiest place to reach any of the local destinations. If you are staying at a beach resort, a short walk or a very quick auto-rickshaw ride will take you there. For example, it is only a 1 KMS walk or ride to Lighthouse Beach. The availability of every kind of local transport, from cycle rentals to metered taxis, makes it the default arrival and departure point for all local sightseeing.
