How To Reach Lady Hydari Park

By Air: The nearest major airport is Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport (GAU) in Guwahati, approximately 120 KMS away. From Guwahati, one can hire a shared taxi, private cab, or take a direct bus to Shillong. Alternatively, the smaller Shillong Airport (UMROI), about 30 KMS away, has limited connectivity, but taxis are available to the park from there. The park is a central landmark, making local taxi directions easy from the main Shillong city entry points.

By Train: Guwahati Railway Station (GHY) is the nearest major railhead, over 100 KMS from Shillong, with excellent connectivity to the rest of India. Upon arrival at Guwahati, travelers can easily book a shared or private cab (often a Tata Sumo) directly to Shillong's city center, which takes about 3-4 hours. From the main drop-off point, Police Bazar, the park is a short local taxi ride away.

By Road: Shillong is exceptionally well-connected by National Highway 6 (NH 6) (formerly NH 40) to Guwahati. Numerous state and private buses, including the popular MTC services, run regularly between Guwahati and Shillong, dropping off at the Police Bazar area. Private and shared taxis are also constantly available, offering a comfortable and scenic drive. The park is centrally located, making it easy to navigate to once inside the city.

By Local Transport: Within Shillong, the park is easily accessible. One can take a local yellow and black city taxi, which are readily available throughout the city. Being only about 3 KMS from the central Police Bazar, a leisurely walk (approx. 20-30 minutes) is also a feasible and pleasant option, especially in good weather, or one can hire an hourly cab for convenience. :
