How To Reach Nidan Falls

Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh, India
Nidan Falls, also known as Katangi Falls, is a spectacular natural wonder located near the town of Katangi. This waterfall is unique because of the geological formations it flows over; the water cascades down a series of high, black basalt rocks that have an irregular, step-like appearance. Standin g at a height of over 100 feet, the falls create a dramatic visual contrast between the dark stones and the white, frothy water. During the Monsoon, the flow becomes so intense that it fills the air with a fine mist, and the sound can be heard from a significant distance. The area surrounding Nidan Falls is densely forested and hilly, providing a rugged landscape that appeals to adventure enthusiasts. Unlike the more famous Bhedaghat, Nidan Falls offers a more raw and adventurous experience, requiring a short trek from the main road. The site consists of two main waterfalls that converge into a large, deep pool at the bottom, which is a popular spot for swimming and bathing. The natural arrangement of the rocks acts as a barrier that breaks the water's flow, creating multiple smaller streams within the main fall. This is a place where nature's power and beauty are on full display, offering a sense of isolation and peace that is hard to find elsewhere. It is a favorite weekend getaway for the people of Jabalpur who want to experience the wilderness without traveling too far from the city.:
