Khezhakeno Village
Khezhakeno Village holds a sacred place in the heart of Naga history. It is widely believed by oral tradition to be the ancestral home from which many Naga tribes (including Angami, Chakhesang, and Lotha) migrated to their current locations. The village is steeped in mythology, most notably the leg end of the "Magic Stone" or Tso Tawo. According to the tale, any basket of paddy dried on this flat stone would miraculously double in quantity by evening. Today, the village serves as a major heritage site, attracting historians and travelers who wish to connect with the roots of Naga culture. The landscape is a breathtaking mix of terraced rice fields that cascade down the hillsides and ancient monoliths erected to commemorate significant events.
