Leshemi Village

The community here has taken a proactive s tance on environmental conservation, banning hunting and protecting the local habitat to ensure the survival of rare species. It is a prime location to spot the Naga Wren-Babbler, a species endemic to the region, along with various types of Laughingthrushes, Woodpeckers, and Sunbirds. The village itself is charming and traditional, belonging to the Chakhesang tribe. The surrounding topography consists of misty hills and temperate forests that provide the perfect canopy for a variety of migratory and resident birds. Walking through the village, one is greeted by the harmonious sounds of nature, far removed from the noise of urban life.
