The temple becomes a vibrant hub of activity with special prayers, recitations of the Ramayana, elaborate decorations, and the distribution of holy food (prasad). The atmosphere is highly festive and devotional.
Kartika Purnima::The full moon day of the Kartika month (usually October/November) is important due to the temple's location on the river. Devotees perform rituals and light lamps (deepams) on the riverbank near the temple's ghat, creating a visually beautiful and spiritually significant ceremony. :Best Photo Spots:

The Idol Close-up::Capture the massive, smooth monolithic carving of the deities inside the sanctum's hall. Use a high-ISO setting due to low light and respectfully take photos without disturbing worshippers. Focus on the distinct carving of Sugriva.
The Chakrathirtha Scenery::Photograph the curved bathing ghat and the flowing Tungabhadra river in the foreground, using the temple's architecture as a backdrop, especially during the early morning hours with soft light. :Photo Gallery

This mythological identity draws pilgrims from all over India.
Actively Worshipped Temple::Unlike many ruins in Hampi, the Kodanda Rama Temple remains an actively functioning place of worship, with priests performing daily rituals (pujas), providing a vibrant, living religious experience that contrasts with the surrounding historical monuments.
Chakrathirtha Ghat::The temple is located right in front of the Chakrathirtha bathing ghat, considered one of the holiest bathing spots in Hampi, where devotees perform rituals and take a purifying dip in the Tungabhadra river, adding to the site's spiritual importance. : -

This integration with the natural landscape is typical of the early Vijayanagara style.
Temple Structure::The temple structure itself is relatively modest, built around the sanctum and consisting of an open hall (Mandapa) supported by carved pillars. Traces of both early Dravidian and late Hoysala architectural styles can be observed in the pillar designs and construction methods. The temple is built on the riverbank, and during heavy monsoon rains, the Tungabhadra river water can reach the courtyard, a rare and important feature.
Pillar Design::The stone pillars in the outer hall are simple and square but feature intricate sculptural decorations related to the various incarnations of Lord Vishnu and scenes from the epics. : -
