Kunda Cave
Details : Kunda Cave is a mysterious natural cavern located deep within the forest near the Kunda village. It is a site of deep spiritual and historical importance, believed to have been used by ancient sages for meditation. Inside the cave, visitors find a large, naturally formed Shiva Linga, whic h is the primary object of worship. The cave's interior is cool and damp, providing a stark contrast to the external tropical heat. A shallow stream flows nearby, adding to the tranquility of the site. Legend says that a famous hermit once lived here, and his "sleeping room" is still pointed out by local guides. On the 14th day of the month of Phalgun, a massive crowd gathers here for a religious festival. The journey to the cave involves navigating through narrow, rocky paths, making it a favorite for adventure seekers. The cave is not just a geological formation but a living site of tribal and local folklore. It represents the raw, untouched beauty of Chatra.
