Lawalang Wildlife Sanctuary

The Lawalang Wildlife Sanctuary is a sprawling ecological haven established on 07-08-1978. It was originally the private hunting ground of the Tikait of Kunda Estate. The sanctuary covers an area of 207 square kilometers and serves as a vital corridor for Elephants. The terrain is a mix of undulati ng hills and dense Northern Tropical Dry Deciduous Forests dominated by Sal trees. It is bordered by the Amanat, Chako, and Lilajan rivers. Visitors can spot diverse fauna like Leopards, Sloth Bears, Spotted Deer, and various bird species such as the Paradise Flycatcher.
