Structure and Dimension: The structure is two-storied and laid out symmetrically with equal projections on four sides, sitting on a raised ornamental stone basement. It features a total of 24 pillars on the ground floor. The roof is composed of nine pyramidal towers (shikaras), with the central dome uniquely shaped like an open lotus bud. The exterior boasts beautiful cusped arches (typically Islamic) set within multi-layered eaves and windows (typically Hindu). Its design allows for constant airflow, aided by a water-cooling system (aqueducts) that was built into the walls and surrounding area, making it a sophisticated early example of passive cooling. The material used is plastered rubble masonry, which allowed for the delicate stucco artwork and floral patterns that adorn the arches and domes. The sheer complexity in seamlessly blending two distinct cultural design philosophies makes it an architectural masterwork. (200 Words) -
