Naldehra
Naldehra is a small but world-renowned hill station located at an altitude of 2,200 Meters above sea level. It is most famous for its stunning 18-hole Golf Course, which is considered one of the most challenging and beautiful in India. The history of this place is deeply intertwined with Lord Curzo n, the British Viceroy, who was so captivated by the beauty of the cedar-covered glade that he personally supervised the creation of the golf course in the early 1900s. He even named his third daughter Alexandra Naldehra as a tribute to this place. The name Naldehra itself is derived from two words: 'Nag' meaning snake and 'Dehra' meaning abode, referring to the ancient Mahunag Temple that stands within the grounds of the golf course. The landscape is characterized by a massive sloping meadow surrounded by a thick canopy of ancient Deodar trees that block out the sun in many places, creating a mystical and cool atmosphere even during the height of summer. Unlike the bustling streets of Shimla, Naldehra offers a serene and regal vibe, making it a favorite destination for luxury travelers and nature lovers. The air here is thin and fresh, carrying the scent of pine and wild herbs.
