This unparalleled biodiversity makes it a global conservation treasure and an essential scientific study site. It is also one of the last true wilderness areas in India, known for its virtually impenetrable, pristine tropical rainforest, which houses the highly endangered Hoolock Gibbon (the only ape species in India) and numerous endemic orchid species. Its sheer size (1985. 23 sq. km) and the majestic, turbulent Noa-Dihing River flowing through it add to its reputation as an ultimate destination for adventure and wildlife enthusiasts who want to experience the untamed Eastern Himalayas. -

Human architecture is limited to functional, low-impact structures designed to blend into the environment.
Dimension: The park's size is massive, covering 1985. 23 sq. km. Key structures include the Deban Forest Rest House (a riverside bungalow), the Eco-Tourist Forest Guest House, and watchtowers.
Key Features: The key architectural features are the wooden and thatch-roofed Forest Rest Houses in Deban and other camps, which offer basic accommodation. The infrastructure includes marked trekking trails, a Bailey bridge (under construction), and check-posts, all built with minimal environmental impact, focusing on durability and coexisting with the high rainfall and dense foliage. -
