Saraswathi Kshetramu

Medak, Telangana, India
Saraswathi Kshetramu in Ananthasagar is a unique temple dedicated to Goddess Saraswathi, the deity of wisdom and arts. Established in 1980 by the visionary scholar Sri Astakala Narasimha Rama Sharma, the temple was built entirely from his personal savings as an astrologer and Vastu expert. Unlike m any other shrines, this temple is known for its serene atmosphere, emphasizing "Mauna" (silence) and "Jnana" (knowledge). It is considered the third most important Saraswati temple in India after Basar. The idol here is unique as the Goddess is depicted in a standing posture, holding a Veena and Vedas. The temple complex is surrounded by lush gardens, providing a meditative environment for students and spiritual seekers. It has become a major hub for "Aksharabhyasam" ceremonies, where children are initiated into the world of learning. The dedication of the founder to build this without public donations adds a layer of sanctity to the place.
