Tamasin Waterfall

Chatra, Jharkhand, India
Tamasin Waterfall is a breathtaking natural wonder situated in the northeastern part of Chatra. The name "Tamasin" translates to "darkness prevails," which is a reference to the extremely dense mixed forest that surrounds the waterfall, blocking out sunlight even during midday. The waterfall is for med by the Mahane River, which plunges from a height of about 60 feet into a deep, circular reservoir. To reach the falls, one must trek through a "Katcha" road and thick foliage, adding an element of adventure to the visit. The site is also known for a beautiful image of Goddess Bhagwati located near the water. The air here is significantly cooler due to the canopy, providing a natural refuge from the heat of May. The sound of the gushing water echoes through the gorge, creating a majestic atmosphere. It is a popular spot for picnics, though its remote nature keeps it relatively pristine. The biodiversity here is rich, with various species of trees, ferns, and local wildlife. It is considered one of the most beautiful spots in all of Jharkhand, offering a raw and untamed look at nature's power. :
