Tattapani

Fagu, Himachal Pradesh, India
Tattapani is a popular destination located on the banks of the Sutlej River, famous primarily for its natural hot sulfur springs. The name itself means "hot water" in the local dialect. These springs are believed to have medicinal properties that can cure skin ailments and joint pains, attracting t housands of pilgrims and tourists every year. Since the construction of the Koldam Dam, the original natural springs are now submerged under the reservoir, but the hot water is still accessible through specially built borewells and baths in local hotels and public facilities. Beyond the springs, Tattapani has emerged as a hub for water adventure sports in Himachal Pradesh. The stretch of the Sutlej River here offers excellent conditions for white-water rafting, especially for beginners and intermediate enthusiasts. The scenic beauty of the river valley, combined with the spiritual aura of the nearby Shiva Caves, makes it a versatile destination that caters to both adventure junkies and those seeking relaxation.
