Health and Safety: Carry basic medicines for motion sickness as the roads are very curvy. Stay hydrated but avoid drinking untreated river water.

Packing: Even in summer, carry a light jacket. In winter, heavy woolens and waterproof shoes are mandatory for the snow.

Accommodation: While mostly a transit point, there are basic homestays available; however, most people prefer staying in Kasol or Tosh.
