It is situated right on the national highway, making it one of the most accessible waterfalls in Kerala. The surrounding area is covered in 500 acres of dense evergreen forests, which are home to various species of birds and small animals. Visitors often stop here to refresh themselves after a long mountain drive. Unlike many other falls, Cheeyappara does not dry up completely in summer, though it is most majestic during the monsoon. It serves as the unofficial "Gateway to Munnar," giving travelers their first taste of the high-range wilderness.
