Nuranang Falls, popularly known as Bong Bong Falls or Jang Falls, is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in India, plunging from a height of about 100 meters. Located near the town of Jang, this waterfall is fed by the Nuranang River, which originates from the high-altitude Sela Pass. The falls gained national fame after being featured in the Bollywood movie "Koyla," but it remains a serene and largely uncrowded destination. The name "Nuranang" holds a deep emotional significance, named after a local Monpa girl named Nura who heroically assisted Indian soldiers during the 1962 Sino-Indian War. The water cascades down in a powerful white sheet against a backdrop of lush green mountains, creating a misty spray that cools the air for hundreds of meters around.
