Unai Mata Temple & Hot Springs
Temple History: Unai Mata Temple is a highly revered pilgrimage site dedicated to the goddess Amba. The temple is famous for its ancient Hot Water Springs (Kunds), which are believed to have been created by Lord Rama. According to legend, when Lord Rama was passing through this forest during his exi le, he shot an arrow into the ground to create a hot water spring for Sita Mata. The water in these springs stays naturally hot throughout the year and is rich in minerals like sulfur. Devotees from all over India come here to take a holy dip in the Kund, as it is believed to cure various skin diseases and joint pains. The temple atmosphere is filled with the scent of incense and the sound of devotional hymns. The surrounding village of Unai is small but vibrant, catering to the needs of the pilgrims. The temple serves as a symbol of faith and natural wonder, blending mythological stories with geothermal science. Many people visit as part of a larger circuit that includes Saputara and Vansda.
