Baba Mandir

Baba Mandir is a shrine dedicated to Harbhajan Singh, a Sentry of the Indian Army who died near the border in 1968. He is revered by soldiers as the "Hero of Nathula." There are two temples: the "Old Baba Mandir," located at a higher altitude and believed to be the original bunker of Baba Harbhajan Singh, and the "New Baba Mandir," built for easier access. Both temples are deeply revered and have a unique story associated with the spirit of Baba Harbhajan Singh still guarding the border. Soldiers and locals alike believe in his presence. Visiting the temple is a moving experience, filled with faith and patriotism. The surrounding landscape is rugged and mountainous. It's often visited as part of the Tsomgo Lake and Nathula Pass circuit.
