Cholamu Lake is an extremely high-altitude lake located further ahead of Gurudongmar Lake. Due to its proximity to the Indo-China border and its sensitive location, access to Cholamu Lake is highly restricted and requires special permits, often only granted for research or specific purposes. The la ke is known for its pristine beauty and the stark, high-altitude desert landscape surrounding it. The views are incredibly remote and untouched. Visiting Cholamu Lake is a challenging endeavor due to the extreme altitude and the difficult terrain. It's not a typical tourist destination, and permissions are hard to obtain.
