On this specific Sunday morning, a small window is sometimes allowed for pedestrians (the runners) to cross the bridge, an otherwise strictly vehicular passage, making it a very special, one-off public event.
Republic/Independence Day Illumination: The bridge often features special, temporary illumination themes, typically using the colors of the Indian flag (saffron, white, and green) to commemorate Republic Day (January 26th) and Independence Day (August 15th). This patriotic display is highly photographed and celebrated.
Anniversary of Opening: The bridge's opening anniversary (June 30th) is occasionally marked by minor official ceremonies or special commemorative lighting programs, recognizing its importance to the city's infrastructure and identity.Best Photo Spots:

It is a cable-stayed design, featuring two main cable-stayed sections and approach viaducts. The design utilizes a total of 20,000 kilometers of steel wire in the main cables. The bridge deck is supported by steel stay cables anchored to massive pylons. The Iconic Pylons (Dimension) The most recognizable architectural elements are the main pylons (towers) that support the cable-stayed sections. The tallest of these pylons reaches a height of approximately 126 meters (413 feet) above the water, which is equivalent to a 40-story building. The pylons are shaped like a reverse 'Y' or a tapering diamond, designed to withstand significant seismic activity and the intense cyclonic winds common to the Arabian Sea.
Functional Design: The bridge is a dual four-lane structure, totaling eight lanes, designed for high-speed vehicular traffic. The structural design accounts for the curvature of the Earth over its 5. 6 KM length and is built to last 100 years, showcasing a focus on long-term functionality and durability in a harsh marine environment. -
