Bijrani Zone

Jim Corbett National Park, Uttarakhand, India
The Bijrani Zone is another highly popular and well-regarded safari zone in Jim Corbett National Park, known for its beautiful topography and good tiger sighting records. Characterized by its dense sal forests, extensive grasslands, and numerous water holes, Bijrani offers a varied habitat that sup ports a rich diversity of wildlife. The landscapes here are particularly picturesque, with a mix of thick vegetation and open clearings, making it a photographer's delight. Apart from the elusive Bengal Tiger ??, Bijrani is home to a significant population of Asian Elephants ??, various species of deer (spotted deer, sambar, hog deer, barking deer), sloth bears, wild boars, and leopards. The presence of abundant water sources throughout the zone ensures that animals frequently visit these spots, increasing the chances of sightings. Bijrani is known for its relatively easier accessibility from Ramnagar, making it a convenient option for day visitors. The safari trails are well-maintained, and the guides are knowledgeable about animal movements. Like Dhikala, both morning and evening jeep safaris are conducted, offering different perspectives of the jungle as the light changes. There is also a forest rest house at Bijrani, allowing for overnight stays, though it's less extensive than Dhikala. The zone's excellent prey base and good cover make it a favored hunting ground for tigers, which often results in exciting encounters for fortunate visitors. Bijrani provides a comprehensive wildlife experience, balancing thrilling sightings with beautiful natural scenery, making it a compelling alternative to Dhikala for those seeking an immersive jungle adventure.
