How To Reach Dhak Bahiri Caves

Karjat, Maharashtra, India
The Ultimate Thrill Trek: Dhak Bahiri Caves is a notoriously difficult and exhilarating trekking destination, located in a vertical cliff face on the Dhak Pinnacle in the Sahyadri range. The caves are not historically significant in a traditional sense but are primarily a place of pilgrimage, housin g a small temple dedicated to Lord Bahiri (Bhairavnath), hence the name. The trek is famous for its extreme difficulty, involving a near-vertical climb of over 30 feet using fixed ropes, chains, and rock-cut steps, making it semi-technical and highly dangerous, especially during the Monsoon. The challenging nature attracts only serious and well-prepared trekkers. The reward is a spacious cave that can shelter around 15-20 people and offers one of the most breathtaking, unobstructed views of the entire Rajmachi, Kothaligad, and Duke's Nose area. Local legends claim the cave was used as a hideout. The sheer difficulty and the life-risking final climb have cemented its status as one of Maharashtra's most thrilling treks, demanding respect and caution from all who attempt it.:
