By Train: The most convenient railhead is Lalitpur Junction (LAR), located approximately 37 KMS from Chanderi. Lalitpur is a major station on the Bhopal-Jhansi section of the North Central Railway network. Other good options are Jhansi Junction (JHS), about 115 KMS away, and Ashoknagar (ASK), about 60 KMS away. From the railway station, local taxis and auto-rickshaws are readily available for the final leg of the journey to Chanderi and the mosque.
By Road: Chanderi is well-connected by road to other major cities in Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. State Highway buses run regularly from Jhansi, Lalitpur, Gwalior, and Bhopal. Driving a private car or hiring a taxi is the most flexible option. The mosque is located inside the old city (Andar Shehar), easily reachable via the main town routes.
By Local Transport: Once in Chanderi, the Jama Masjid is a central landmark. It is easily accessible on foot from the bus stand or by a short ride in a local Auto-Rickshaw or cycle-rickshaw. Due to its location near the Badal Mahal Gate, walking through the old city is recommended to appreciate the nearby monuments and bustling street life. ()
