How To Reach Kaziranga National Park

Nagaon, Assam, India
Kaziranga National Park is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the pride of Assam. While most of the park lies in Golaghat, the Burapahar and Bagori ranges fall within or are easily accessible from the Nagaon district. It is world-renowned for hosting two-thirds of the world's population of the Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros. The park's landscape is a mix of tall elephant grass, marshy lagoons (beels), and dense tropical forests. Apart from rhinos, it is a Tiger Reserve and home to wild water buffaloes, swamp deer, and elephants. The Brahmaputra river forms the northern boundary, making it a fertile ground for diverse flora and fauna.

How to Reach

By Air: Jorhat Airport (90 km) or Guwahati (190 km).

By Train: Furkating or Jakhalabandha station (near Nagaon side).

By Road: Directly on NH-37; all Guwahati-Upper Assam buses pass through Kohora/Bagori.

By Local Transport: Private Gypsy services are the primary mode of transport inside and around the park.
