How To Reach Lawson's Bay Beach

Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India
Tranquil Coastline and Ideal Swimming Spot: Lawson's Bay Beach is a pristine, relatively secluded stretch of coastline in Visakhapatnam, often considered an extension of the much more famous Ramakrishna (RK) Beach, but offering a far calmer and cleaner environment. Located near the bustling Beach Ro ad and the base of the Kailasagiri hill, this beach is distinguished by its remarkably shallow, crystal-clear water and gentle, placid waves, which make it stand out among the beaches of Vizag. The combination of the white, soft sands and the calm waters makes it an ideal and safe location for swimming, sunbathing, and practicing water sports, especially for beginners. The shore is lined with lush green coastal vegetation, including casuarina groves and local shrubs, which adds to its peaceful, picturesque charm. Unlike the main RK Beach which is rocky and has strong currents, Lawson's Bay offers a safe gradient for entering the sea, making it particularly popular with families with small children and beginner swimmers. The beach is maintained to a high standard, though it lacks the commercial development of other stretches, preserving its natural tranquility and clean aesthetic. Its proximity to tourist hubs like Kailasagiri and the city center, combined with its secluded atmosphere, makes it a favorite hidden spot among locals and informed tourists seeking a quiet escape and a genuinely relaxing coastal experience, especially during the early mornings and late afternoons when the light is perfect.
