Bheemili Beach

Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, India
Bheemili Beach, also known as Bheemunipatnam, is one of the oldest municipalities in India and was once a major Dutch settlement. The beach is situated at the confluence of the Gosthani River and the Bay of Bengal, creating a unique coastal landscape. Unlike the crowded beaches of Vizag, Bheemili o ffers a peaceful and serene environment with golden sands and calm waters. The area is steeped in history, with 17th-century Dutch ruins, a lighthouse, and a historic cemetery still standing today. It was a strategic port for the Dutch East India Company and later for the British. The drive from Visakhapatnam to Bheemili along the Marine Drive is considered one of the most beautiful coastal roads in India.
