How To Reach Ramoji Film City

Hyderabad, Telangana, India
Overview of the World's Largest Film City: Ramoji Film City is a cinematic marvel spanning 2500 acres, certified by Guinness World Records as the world's largest integrated film studio complex. It was established in 1996 by film producer and media baron Ramoji Rao and can accommodate production of 2 0 films simultaneously. The city is a full-fledged tourism and recreation center offering a blend of film sets, amusement rides, and themed gardens. It's a surreal world where fantasy meets reality, designed to mimic diverse locations from airports and railway stations to Japanese and Mughal gardens, making it a perfect family getaway. The sheer scale and variety of the attractions mean a full day is required to explore even the major highlights. It hosts two hotels, Tara and Sitara, and is a major destination for corporate events and lavish weddings. The experience is centered on the magic of cinema and provides interactive fun for all ages. Fantasy and Filming Locations: Key attractions include the spectacular sets like Bahubali sets (seasonal), the thematic attractions like Eureka, and the intricately designed gardens such as the Sun Fountain and Angel's Fountain. Visitors get a glimpse into the filmmaking process through interactive shows like Action and the virtual reality experience at Ramoji Space Yatra. The atmosphere is designed to transport visitors to various world locations, all within a single complex.

How to Reach

By Air: The nearest airport is Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (HYD), approx. 45 KMS away. From the airport, one can hire a pre-paid taxi, a cab service (Ola/Uber), or take a dedicated airport shuttle to the film city. This is the fastest but most expensive route.

By Train: The nearest major railway station is Secunderabad Railway Station (SC) or Nampally Railway Station (Hyderabad Deccan) (35-40 KMS away). From the railway station, a direct pre-booked taxi or auto-rickshaw (long ride, best to avoid) is recommended.

By Road: Ramoji Film City is located on the Vijayawada Highway (NH9), after the Outer Ring Road. Driving by own car or hiring a private cab is the most convenient way to reach, taking about 1. 5 to 2 hours depending on Hyderabad city traffic.

By Local Transport: Telangana State Road Transport Corporation (TSRTC) buses run frequently from the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) to the film city gates. While affordable, it's a slower option. Many private travel operators also offer dedicated AC bus packages from various parts of Hyderabad including pick-up and drop-off.
