The Jeep Safari routes are the lifeline of wildlife viewing in Orang National Park. The landscape of Orang is predominantly characterized by its expansive g rasslands, interspersed with patches of riverine forest and numerous wetlands. These tall, emerald-green elephant grasses provide excellent cover for many animal species, particularly the iconic Great Indian One-Horned Rhinoceros. The jeeps navigate through these grassy plains, along the banks of the various streams and water bodies within the park, such as the Pachnoi, Belsiri, and Dhansiri rivers, which flow through and border the park before joining the Brahmaputra. Alongside the rhinos, you might also encounter herds of Hog Deer, Wild Boar, and the elusive Asiatic Elephant. While sightings of the Royal Bengal Tiger are rare due to their nocturnal and secretive nature, Orang is a declared Tiger Reserve, and their presence is confirmed, adding to the thrill. The safari paths are designed to offer panoramic views of the park's untouched wilderness, providing ample opportunities for photography and an immersive experience in the heart of Assam's rich ecosystem. The early morning safaris are generally considered the best for animal sightings as animals are more active.
