Maa Chanchala Devi Mandir
Details: Maa Chanchala Devi Mandir is a highly revered Hindu shrine dedicated to Goddess Durga, specifically in her Chanchala form. Perched atop a hill at an elevation of about 400 feet, this temple is considered a powerful Shakti Peeth by the local community. The temple's history dates back over 20 0 years, and it is steeped in unique local traditions. One of the most distinct features of this temple is that the use of Sindoor (vermilion) is strictly prohibited; instead, devotees offer Arwa Rice and Mishri to the deity. To reach the sanctum, devotees must climb a series of steep stairs, which is considered an act of penance and devotion. The temple is surrounded by dense forests, providing a peaceful atmosphere for meditation and prayer. It is a popular site for weddings and Mundan ceremonies. The panoramic view of the Koderma valley from the top is breathtaking, making the arduous climb worthwhile for both pilgrims and tourists.

Ancient Cave: Below the main shrine, there is a natural rock cave with a very narrow entrance. Inside, there are ancient Petroglyphs or rock paintings depicting four forms of the Goddess. The cave passage is barely 2 feet wide at points, requiring devotees to crawl or squeeze through to see the sacred paintings. -
