Historical Context: The Baradari, meaning 'twelve doors', is a pavilion often found in Mughal and Rajput architecture, built for relaxation and to allow a free flow of air. The Baradari in Orchha is an elegant structure used by the Bundela rulers for informal meetings, music and dance performances, and to enjoy the cool breezes, particularly in the summer months.
