Health & Safety: Stay behind the safety barriers on the highway. Do not attempt to walk on the railway tracks as this is both illegal and dangerous. The road can be busy with trucks, so keep children close while taking photos.

Packing Essentials: Since this is usually a quick stop, you don't need much. However, an umbrella is useful as the weather in the Western Ghats can change quickly. Carry a good zoom lens for your camera to capture the train.

Cash & Connectivity: There are no facilities at the bridge. Carry water and snacks from Thenmala. ATMs are available in Thenmala town (4 KMS away). Mobile signal is decent but can be patchy near the tunnels.

Accommodation: Most visitors stay in Thenmala or Kollam. Thenmala Ecotourism offers unique tent stays and forest lodges which are perfect for those who want to explore the bridge and the nearby waterfalls over two days.
