Travel Tips Of Singhason Peak
Tourism Tips
Trekking Gear: Wear sturdy, closed-toe, high-grip trekking shoes. Carry a simple trekking pole for stability on steep or slippery sections.
Water & Food: Carry ample water (at least 2 litres per person) and energy-rich snacks. There are no shops on the peak.
Guide: For safety and to truly appreciate the nature, hire a local guide. Their knowledge of the terrain is invaluable.
Packing:
Layered Clothing: Dress in layers, as it can be cool at the base in the early morning but warm up significantly during the ascent. A light waterproof/windproof jacket is advisable.
Essentials: Pack a small headlamp or torch for an early morning start, a small first-aid kit, a camera, and a pair of binoculars for bird-watching and viewing the distant mountains.
Accommodation: Stay in Diphu town, where most accommodation is available. Options include local lodges, guest houses, and hotels like Hotel Nilamber.
Environmental Responsibility: Do Not Litter. Carry all non-biodegradable waste (plastics, wrappers) back with you. Stick to the marked trail to avoid disturbing the local flora and fauna.
Respect Wildlife: Observe animals and birds from a distance. Do not feed them or disturb their habitat.
Local Interaction: Engage politely with locals and your guide. They are the best source of information about the region and its ecosystem.
