Bhelughat Waterfall

Diphu, Assam, India
Sub Place Details: Bhelughat Waterfall is one of the most stunning natural spectacles in the entire state of Assam. Also known as Paklongkam, it is a tiered waterfall that plunges through massive rock formations surrounded by an ancient forest. The sound of the falling water can be heard from a kilo meter away, building anticipation as you trek toward it. The water is exceptionally clear and cool, inviting visitors for a refreshing swim in the natural pools. The site is a favorite for local youth who come here for weekend adventures and photography. The geological formations around the falls are fascinating, with smooth rocks carved by centuries of water flow. During the monsoon, the waterfall transforms into a powerful giant, while in winter, it becomes a gentle and elegant stream. The biodiversity here is rich, with many species of butterflies and dragonflies hovering near the water. It is a place that feels untouched by modernization, offering a raw experience of the wilderness. The trek to the falls is relatively easy but provides a sense of accomplishment once the majestic view opens up. Many tourists combine a visit here with a trip to the nearby Akashi Ganga. It is truly a hidden jewel of the Karbi Anglong district.
