How to Reach

By Air: The closest airport is Dimapur Airport (DMU) (Rs.70Rs.80 KMS). From DMU, one must take a taxi or shared cab to Diphu. From Diphu, the base of the Singhason Peak trek is only Rs.4 KMS away. Guwahati Airport (GAU) (Rs.250 KMS) is an option but requires a longer journey to Diphu.

By Train: Diphu Railway Station (DPU) is the main railhead. From the station, the trekking start point is a very short distance. The convenience of a train journey makes reaching Diphu relatively easy from major Indian cities.

By Road: Diphu is linked to the rest of Assam via state and national highways, including a link to NH 329. State and private buses operate services to Diphu. Once in Diphu, the final stretch to the base of the peak is on a local road, often leading through the outskirts of the town.

By Local Transport: Since the trekking starting point is only about 4 KMS from the central area of Diphu, the most practical local transport is an auto-rickshaw or a private taxi. Given the need to navigate the starting point, hiring a taxi for a round trip (including waiting time) or an auto-rickshaw is recommended. Ensure the driver knows the exact location of the Singhason Peak base point. Local motorcycles/scooters are a popular and efficient way for locals to reach the base point. For tourists, a hired vehicle offers the safest and most reliable transportation to begin the trek.
