Difficulty: Torna is a difficult trek. Carry sufficient water and snacks, and do not attempt if physically unfit or with very young children/elders.
Slippery Rocks: The path has rock patches; ensure shoes have excellent grip. Exercise extreme caution, especially near the Zunjar Machi edges.
Guides: For first-timers, hiring a local guide from Velhe is highly recommended for safety, particularly during the Monsoon.
Medical: Basic medical aid is only available in Velhe. Carry all necessary personal medication, a snake bite kit, and a basic first aid kit.
Packing:
Light and Layers: Pack light but include a windproof jacket, as the fort is very windy at the top. Headlamp/torch is essential for pre-dawn starts or camping.
Water: Carry a minimum of 3 liters of water per person.
Cash: Velhe village has no ATMs. Carry sufficient cash for transport, guide fees, and food.
Accommodation:
Base: Basic homestays are available in Velhe village.
Fort: Camping is often permitted near the Mendhai Devi Temple (ancient temple ruins are present) with local consent, offering an immersive experience. Carry your own tent, sleeping bag, and food supplies if camping.

Connectivity: Mobile network connectivity is poor or patchy on the trek and at the summit. Inform loved ones before starting.
Combine Trip: It is highly recommended to combine a Torna trek with a visit to Rajgad Fort via the connecting ridge, turning it into a two-day historical trek.
Leave No Trace: Follow 'Leave No Trace' principles strictly. Pack out all trash.
