Durtlang Hills
Location Overview: The Durtlang Hills are the dominant mountain range immediately north of Aizawl city, serving as its natural backdrop and green lung. Durtlang is not a single point but a massive range, home to important institutions like the Aizawl Theological College and the Durtlang Hospital. The hills are a popular destination for trekking, hiking, and simple nature walks, offering clean air and a cooler climate than the city center. The steep slopes are covered in thick pine and bamboo forests, and the area is crucial to the city's ecosystem and water source. The name Durtlang literally means 'Dusty Peak' in Mizo, though today it is renowned for its lush greenery and spectacular views.
